Burns Night: Music, Poetry, and Old-World Warmth

January 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Celebrate Burns Night on January 23 with music, poetry, and old-world warmth as Failte fills the evening with the sound and spirit of the Celtic nations.

Burns Night is a Scottish tradition held in honor of national poet Robert Burns, celebrating his words, wit, and enduring love of music, friendship, and storytelling. This special evening blends poetry, reflection, and community—exactly the kind of night meant to be shared.

Failte—Gaelic for “Welcome”—is a spirited quartet rooted in the Irish session tradition, playing Irish and Scottish tunes with vibrant affection. From lively jigs and reels to tender waltzes, their sound weaves together cittern, fiddle, bodhrán, and button accordion into a rich, inviting musical tapestry.

The evening will also feature readings of Robert Burns’ poetry around the fireplace, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere that echoes the rare old times—when music, words, and community gathered together in warmth and good company.
