Our members are passionate about bringing the highest quality performances to all audiences as well as inspiring the next generation of musicians \nRecent seasons have taken the members of FCP to audiences both in the US and abroad. The ensemble debuted in 2022 in a collaborative pop-up with Michelin-starred chefs in Chicago\, and they continue to cultivate partnerships across the globe. Recent seasons have featured tours to Taiwan\, Japan\, Portland\, Miami\, Hawai’i\, Canada\, and across the Midwest\, and have included their debut at Newport Classical in Rhode Island.  \nThis is a FREE concert and is open to the public.

SUMMARY:Mini Alebrije Art Workshop and Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and creative hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to make your very own alebrije with papier-mâché artist\, Ceci Tejeda. Alebrijes are a colorful\, fantastical creature that blends elements of various animals. Originating from Mexican folk art\, alebrijes are traditionally crafted from papier-mâché and painted in vibrant patterns and bold colors. Each one is a unique expression of imagination!\n\nIn this 2-hour session\, participants will choose one of two sample alebrije designs to recreate by following a step-by-step process. You’ll learn how to build the base using aluminum foil and papier-mâché\, then bring your creature to life through painting and decoration inspired by traditional Mexican styles. \n\n\n\n\nAges 12 and up: Participants will build their entire piece from start to finish.\nAges 5 to 11: We’ll provide a pre-made aluminum base so younger artists can focus on shaping\, decorating\, and painting their alebrije.\n\n\nFollowing the workshop\, at 1:00 PM\, all are invited to a Community Reception celebrating the opening of Crafted Spirits: Día de los Muertos\, a solo exhibition by Ceci Tejeda on view at the FAC from October 24 to November 24. The reception will feature light refreshments and offer an opportunity to engage with the artist\, explore her vibrant papier-mâché pieces\, and reflect on cultural expressions of memory\, life\, and death.

Behind these doors\, the gin will be flowing\, the jazz will be jumpin’\, and the joint will be full of flappers and gents cutting a rug. Heavy appetizers\, sweet treats\, a silent auction\, and a paddle raise make it the bee’s knees. \nDust off your glad rags – 1920s attire encouraged! \n  \nThe Fort Atkinson Club Community Center is a beautifully restored building in downtown For Atkinson along the banks of the Rock River. This historic building was lovingly restored by Joan Jones and a host of other remarkable volunteers and donors to become the vital community gathering space it is today. The FAC offers a range of impactful FREE programs for the community including chamber concerts\, FacTalks\, wellness classes\, art programs and exhibitions\, summer patio concerts and much more. \nIn order to keep our programming free and open to everyone in the community we have a few fundraisers annually to support our community vision of “A vibrant Fort Atkinson area\, alive with cultural and learning experiences – music\, visual arts\, lectures\, drama\, wellness and celebrations – where our diverse population is actively engaged.”
