SUMMARY:Chamber Concert: The Dream Songs Project
DESCRIPTION:The Dream Songs Project\nAugust 11\, 2024\n4:00 PM \nThe Dream Songs Project presents a program of classical art song arrangements of folk music from around the world\, including Spanish music by Joaquin Rodrigo\, songs of the British by Benjamin Britten\, French folksongs by Mattyas Seiber\, and Brazilian music from Laurindo Almeida. \nThe music is varied and is appealing to classical music aficionados as well as audiences with little exposure to classical music. The Brazilian arrangements in particular are familiar to audiences of a certain age as they come from a very popular classical “crossover” album from the late 1950s. \nThe Dream Songs Project has been performing and educating as a duo since 2010. Founded by Jesus “Joey” Burgos\, hailed as the best Latin vocalist in Milwaukee and surrounding areas\, this musical group promises an unforgettable performance!\n\nHosted by First United Methodist Church Hispanic Ministry (FUMC)\, we will be serving up mouthwatering dishes\, with proceeds benefiting youth activities. Support a good cause while indulging in a range of Latin foods!\n\nCheck out our menu featuring specialties from different countries: Pupusas (El Salvador) Arepas (Venezuela/Colombia) Empanadas (Dominican Republic) Tamales (Honduras) Tamales: Mexican (Oaxaca\, Mexico) Rice pudding (Nicaragua) Drinks: Limon\, Tamarind Mabi and Fruit Cocktail\n\nBut that’s not all!
